タロ牧師と妻の記子さんはニューホープ東京の創立者です。ふたりには１人娘であるエリカがいます。タロ牧師は22歳のころYWAMの宣教師として初来日し、渋谷ハーベストにて7年間ディレクターを務めました。その後、ハワイの教会ニューホープ・クリスチャン・フェローシップ・オアフでウェイン・コディロ主任牧師の指導のもとにインターンシップをしながら、パシフィックリム・クリスチャン大学にて牧師訓練を受け、クリスチャン・ミニストリーの修士号を取得し卒業しました。

日本でも活気があって楽しく、芸術を用いてクリエイティブに神様の素晴らしさを伝える教会を開拓したい、というビジョンを持ったタロ牧師と妻の記子さんは1999年に再来日し、同じビジョンを持つ友人数名とニューホープ東京をはじめました。

タロ牧師はニューホープ・ジャパン・アソシエーションのディレクターとして、ニューホープ東京を通じて、ニューホープ横浜、ニューホープ大阪、ニューホープ成増(サテライト教会)、ニューホープ台湾の開拓に貢献してきました。また、ニューホープ・インターナショナル・プリスクール(幼稚園)を東京都板橋区に設立しました。タロ牧師は日本、アジア、南太平洋諸国での教会開拓に情熱を注いでおり、現在は日本、ミャンマー、フィリピン、台湾に教会を持つニューホープ・インターナショナル・アジアのディレクターを努めています。

タロ牧師はウクレレが上手で、料理は特にBBQが得意です。

Pastor Talo and his wife Noriko are the founders of New Hope Tokyo. They have a daughter Erika who is the joy of their life. Pastor Talo, who was born in Samoa, first came to Japan as a missionary with YWAM when he was 22 years old, and served for 7 years as a director at Shibuya Harvest church. Later he returned to Hawaii, and while serving as an intern at New Hope Christian Fellowship Oahu under his mentor Pastor Wayne Cordeiro, he underwent training as a pastor at Pacific Rim Christian College, and graduated with a master’s degree in Christian ministry.

With a vision of pioneering a vibrant church that would convey the love of Jesus through creative arts, Pastor Talo and Noriko returned to Japan in 1999 to start New Hope Tokyo with a few friends who shared the same vision.

As the director of New Hope Japan Association, through New Hope Tokyo, Pastor Talo has contributed to the pioneering of New Hope Yokohama, New Hope Osaka, New Hope Narimasu (a satellite church), and New Hope Taiwan. In addition he has established New Hope International Preschool in Tokyo. With a passion for church planting in Japan, Asia, and the South Pacific, Pastor Talo acts as the director of New Hope International Asia, which oversees churches in Japan, Taiwan, Myanmar, and the Philippines.

Pastor Talo plays the ukulele, and cooks a mean BBQ.

牧師の息子として育った以幸(いさく)牧師は、中学校を卒業後ハワイの高校に進学。当時はニューホープ・ヒロに通っていました。高校卒業後オレゴン大学で言語学を勉強した後、日本へ一度戻りました。ハワイのInternational College and Graduate Schoolに在学中に、タロ牧師と真島亨牧師（現ニューホープ横浜主任牧師）と出会い、1998年にニューホープ・オアフのインターンとなります。その時には主にジャパニーズ・ミニストリーで通訳や日本語のリソース作成等を通して奉仕しました。運命の女性のぞみさんと結婚後、二人は1年間ニューホープ千葉で奉仕し、その後ニューホープ東京へ。現在はニューホープ・ジャパンの東北災害支援チームHope Japanなどのリーダーを担当しながら、教会内の様々な育成に従事しています。息子ユージン君と娘ジョイちゃんのパパです。

落ち着いた性格の以幸牧師ですが、高校時代は髪を金髪に染め、その高い伸長を活かしてバスケットボールで活躍していたとか。

Pastor Isaku grew up as a pastor’s son, and after junior high went to study in a high school in Hawaii, where he attended New Hope Hilo. After high school, he studied linguistics at University of Oregon, and returned to Japan. Later, while studying at International College and Graduate School of Hawaii, he met Pastor Talo and Pastor Toru Majima (now New Hope Yokohama Senior Pastor), and eventually became an intern at New Hope Oahu in 1998. There, he mainly served in the Japanese Ministry, through interpreting and making Japanese-language resources. After marrying Nozomi, the woman of his life, the two served at New Hope Chiba in Japan for one year, and then moved to New Hope Tokyo. Currently Pastor Isaku is engaged in various training within the church, while being in charge of many roles including the leader of Hope Japan, the Tohoku disaster relief team of New Hope Japan. He is the father of son Eugene and daughter Joy.

Pastor Isaku is known for his calm personality, but there have been reports that he was an active basketball player with dyed blonde hair back in high school.

オーストラリア生まれのピーター牧師は幼少時代を、宣教師の両親と共にパプアニューギニアで過ごしました。オーストラリアに戻ったピーターは、17歳の時に神様に仕えたいという熱い思いを神様から与えられ、その後聖書学校に進学しました。ニューホープ・ブリスベンで7年間副牧師として奉仕をした後、ピーター牧師は2007年に東京に移り、ニューホープ東京に参加しました。ニューホープ東京ではフロントライン・ミニストリーでギターの才能を神様への賛美のために役立てています。ピーター牧師はアルファ・コースやマイ・ファースト・ステップス等の初心者向けの聖書について学ぶコースを担当してきました。

Peter hails from Australia, but spent much of his childhood in Papua New Guinea, where his parents were missionaries. After returning to Australia, Peter heard God’s calling to serve him at the age of 17, and went on to study at Bible College. After serving for 7 years at New Hope Brisbane as assistant pastor, he moved to Tokyo in 2007 to join New Hope Tokyo. There, Peter serves on the Frontline ministry using his guitar talents in praise and worship. Peter has also led the Alpha course and My First Steps course, both aimed at beginners of the Bible and new Christians. And he loves Vegemite and Ramen.

1995年東京基督神学校卒業後、どうしても海外の教会で学んでみたい、という思いを持っていたところ、ニューホープ・ヒロから日本に遣わされていた宣教師に出会う。そして礼拝オープニング直前のニューホープ・オアフに導かれ、1年間リーバイツのスタッフとして働く。2000年、ニューホープ東京に加わる。2010年よりニューホープ東京のサテライト教会であるニューホープ成増の牧師となり現在に至る。牧会と同時に1998年より千葉英和高等学校で教師の働きも続けている。

After graduating Tokyo Christian Theological Seminary in 1995, Shintaro wanted to learn from an overseas church, when he happened to meet a missionary who had been sent to Japan from New Hope Hilo. He was led to New Hope Oahu just before it had started worship services, and worked there for 1 year as staff of the Levites Ministry. In 2000, he joined New Hope Tokyo. In 2010, he was appointed as the pastor of New Hope Narimasu, a satellite church of New Hope Tokyo, where he ministers now. As well as being a pastor, he has been teaching at the Chiba Eiwa High School since 1998.

ニューホープのスクールディレクターです。カリフォルニア大学バークレー校を卒業、1997年来日し、長崎の幼稚園などで教えていた時に幼児教育を学びました。それ以来日本で子供たちに教えています。妻の智美と3人の子供がいます。趣味は 読書、ランニング、ハイキングです。

The school director of New Hope. He graduated from the University of California at Berkeley. In 1997, he moved to Japan and learned about early childhood education while teaching at preschools in Nagasaki. He has been teaching children in Japan almost ever since. He and his wife Tomomi have three children. His hobbies include reading, running and hiking.
